PWSA UK offers a range of training and consultancy services to suit your needs. All our in-house training and information can be tailored to meet your particular circumstances.
We provide guidance and support to anyone working with a person with Prader-Willi Syndrome. However, as a self-funding small charity - and the only one working to help people with PWS in the UK - we need to cover our costs by making a nominal charge for our services in order to enable us to continue our work.
The following questions might help you to decide which level of training you require:
Our staff are qualified trainers and have an in-depth knowledge of Prader-Willi Syndrome. Training sessions include copies of appropriate literature for all delegates. Please contact us to discuss your requirements.
We run a number of conferences and training events, providing either an overview of the syndrome or a particular aspect of it. Click here for details of future conferences and training events.
This is an ideal for staff working in face to face settings. It is the only externally accredited course in the UK specifically on PWS and is taught by our experienced trainers. For more details, contact us.
A PWSA UK facilitated forum of residential care and supported living providers - meets at least 3 times a year in Derby to discuss common issues and concerns around caring for people with PWS, the policy and compliance challenges as well as to share best practice. Please contact us for details.
Our experienced staff can for example: attend critical case meetings and provide advice on the most appropriate care and behavior management of individuals with PWS. We can also offer guidance and support on Residential Care and Supported Living options and service development. Please note that we usually require at least two weeks' advance notification for this service. Please contact us for further details.
