CEO Leigh Vallance to leave PWSA - new CEO announced
Leigh Vallance, our Chief Executive after long and careful deliberation, has decided to leave PWSA next month. Despite her short time with the Association, Leigh has achieved a great deal. We are grateful for the major transformational work done by her in bringing the Association up to speed with the needs of our members and how best to deliver services in the fast moving world of social media, dealing with the here and now and how to use our limited resources in the most optimal way for maximum impact.
Leigh will be replaced by Susan Passmore who will be coming on board in March. Susan currently works for the Motor Neurone Disease Association. She is very much looking forward to joining the Association and moving forward our new more enabling, co-ordinating and facilitation support functions as well as continuing to expand the opportunities for our members to be actively involved, to meet and communicate be that face to face or by using Facebook and Twitter.
PWSA UK has re-structured its staffing resources in order to achieve maximum reach within the financial limitations presented in the current economic climate, please click here to see our new organisational structure chart.
These changes mean we will also be saying goodbye to Jacquie Kearns but at the same time hello to a much more flexible, financially sustainable, inclusive and equitable support service, ensuring that PWSA UK is here for the next 30 years whilst celebrating the landmark of its 30th birthday in 2012. Susan’s arrival at this critical time will bring focus on ensuring that these changes have the desired impact and outcome for the Association – a task that she is anticipating and that with all our help will make the Association stronger in these difficult times.
The future depends on what we do today, and it is to the future that, the Association is now focused – a future where PWS is no longer a barrier to a healthy, full, and productive life, supported by a UK wide Association that is itself hale and hearty and here for its members for the years to come.
