Prader-Willi Syndrome Awareness Month: Get Moving in May

JHorsfall • Apr 14, 2020

We are challenging you to Walk a Marathon in May – without having to leave your own home or garden!

As the Virgin Money London Marathon has been postponed until October, one of our lovely parents suggested that we organise our own virtual marathon!

A marathon is approximately 62,926 steps, so you could challenge yourself to complete it as quickly as possible, or pace yourself and do 2,300 steps each day throughout the month.

So, how do you complete your marathon challenge?

• Download our marathon calendar - you will need to enter how many steps you have done every day.

• Choose how you are going to do your steps – around your house, or your garden, or your daily walk, if you are able to take one! You can use an app, a Fitbit, a pedometer, or just old-fashioned counting!

• Buy a Go Orange T-shirt to wear for £7.50 including postage – we’ve even got children’s sizes this year. Visit our online shop here

• Set up a JustGiving page to collect sponsorship for your challenge. Click here for further information

• Share the details on Facebook and add a donate button – find out more here

• Begin your challenge as a family or on your own and remember to record your steps on the chart every day.

• Share a post about your marathon with friends and family to raise awareness of PWS.

• Send in videos of you taking part and we will share them on social media.

• Let us know as soon as you have completed your marathon so we can celebrate your success!

Thank you and good luck with your marathon!
